The 'Selena' soybean variety is an early-maturing, indeterminate, high-yielding variety bred by individual selection from a hybrid population. It is characterized by high yield, reaching 2.2 to 2.9 t/ha in main crops, and up to 3.8 t/ha in favorable wet years. The maximum recorded yield was 36.6 c/ha. The growing season of the variety is about 112 days, allowing its use for both main and repeated sowings. Plant height varies depending on growing conditions and can range from 84 to 120 cm, ensuring good adaptation in various climatic zones, including the Southern Federal District, North Caucasus, and Lower Volga regions.

The 'Selena' variety is characterized by high drought resistance and resistance to lodging and pod cracking, significantly reducing yield losses under unfavorable weather conditions. Additionally, the plants exhibit resistance to diseases such as downy mildew and stem cancer, enhancing cultivation reliability and reducing the need for intensive protection. Seeds of the variety have high protein content (about 36.3%) and oil content (about 23.6%), making this variety attractive for agro-industrial purposes. The mass of 1000 seeds is approximately 141 g, indicating large-fruitedness and high quality of seed material.

External features of the variety include purple flower color, light brown pod coat color, and light yellow matte seed coat without pigmentation. The main stem is gray-pubescent, while leaflets have an acutely obovate shape. The attachment height of the lower pod is about 11.4 cm. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, the 'Selena' variety is recommended for cultivation in various agro-climatic conditions, making it a universal choice for soybean farms.
