Description
The Shatilovskaya 17 soybean variety is an early-maturing variety created by individual selection from a spontaneous hybrid population of the Belor variety. The plants are indeterminate type of medium height, reaching 78 to 150 cm, with trifoliate green leaves and small light-purple flowers. The seeds are light brown, medium-sized, with a mass of 1000 seeds of about 171.3 g. The vegetative period is 105 days, which ensures uniform and early crop maturity. The variety is characterized by resistance to pod cracking and seed shedding, as well as lack of disease infection, which significantly facilitates harvesting and improves product quality.
Shatilovskaya 17 has high yield, which on average reaches 24.4 c/ha (2.44 t/ha) in the Central-Black Earth region, and in variety trials at FNC ZBK, seed yield reached up to 2.91 t/ha. The variety is well adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the Oryol region and is recommended for cultivation specifically in this region. The sowing rate is 1.0 million seeds per hectare, and the predecessor in crop rotation is usually a black fallow.
A feature of the variety is the high protein and fat content in seeds – protein from 37.00% to 42.7%, fat from 18.8% to 21.53%. This makes Shatilovskaya 17 attractive for use in the food and feed industries. Moreover, the variety is suitable for direct combine harvesting, which increases the efficiency of agrotechnical measures. All these characteristics make Shatilovskaya 17 a high-yielding, reliable, and high-quality soybean variety for cultivation in the Central-Black Earth region.
