Description
Soybean variety Sloboda is a drought-resistant grain variety developed by the Institute of Plant Growing named after V.Ya. Yuryev of NAAN and registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2019. This variety belongs to the ukrainika type and is recommended for cultivation in the Polissia and Steppe regions. Plants reach a height of 70–80 cm, with the lower pod attached at a height of about 16 cm. The vegetation period lasts 94–96 days, making it an early-maturing variety suitable for regions with a short growing season.
Variety Sloboda is characterized by high resistance to lodging and seed shattering, which contributes to yield retention. It also exhibits high resistance to diseases and drought, which is particularly important for cultivation under variable climatic conditions. Seeds have an oval-round shape, yellow color with a dark-brown hilum, and the 1000-seed weight ranges from 140 to 170 grams. The average protein content in seeds is 40.5%, and oil content is 21.0%, making this variety valuable for obtaining high-quality raw material.
The potential yield of variety Sloboda reaches 4.5 tons per hectare under proper agronomic practices. Due to its characteristics, this variety is suitable for cultivation under various agro-climatic conditions, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield.
