Description
SOY variety SOER 3 is an early-maturing determinate variety created based at the GNUErshov Regional Scientific Center for Agriculture and Forestry of the South-East. The plant is characterized by a semi-compact form with gray or reddish-brown pubescence, erect, of medium height. Leaves are of medium size, oval or lanceolate, green with moderate blistering. Flowers can be white or purple, and pods are light brown with intensity of coloring from medium to pronounced. Seeds are elongated, yellow, with a dark brown hilum and eye, 1000 seed mass varies from 128 to 154.6 grams. The height of attachment of the lower pod is about 10-15 cm.
The variety belongs to very early and early maturity groups, with a maturation period in the Ershov region from the end of August to the end of September. SOER 3 is distinguished by high resistance to pod cracking and seed shattering, allowing it to withstand standing in the field for 20-25 days without quality loss. Average seed yield in the region reaches 11.3 centners per hectare. Protein content in seeds is about 30.1%, and fat — 23.9%, which meets standards and ensures the high commercial value of the variety.
The SOER 3 variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Middle Volga region, as well as such regions as the Republic of Mordovia, Tatarstan, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Volgograd, Saratov regions and the Republic of Kalmykia. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and technicity, it does not yield to other popular soy varieties, such as SOER 5 and Chera 1, and is a competitive choice for producers focused on obtaining high quality and stable yield.
