The 'Sphere' soy variety is a mid-late, high-yielding variety developed for cultivation in the Far Eastern region, specifically in the Primorsky Krai. Plants reach a height of about 84.2 cm, and the vegetation period is 123 days. One of the key features of the 'Sphere' variety is the high content of protein (37.4%) and fat (23.1%) in seeds, making it attractive for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The high content of isoflavones in plants of the variety opens up additional possibilities for application in pharmacology. The average yield of the variety in the region reaches 14.7 centners per hectare, while in the Primorsky Krai it can reach 30.2 centners per hectare, and maximum yield indicators reach up to 41.3 centners per hectare.
Studies of the mesostructure of the photosynthetic apparatus of the 'Sphere' variety showed its superiority over the American Hodson variety in such parameters as leaf thickness and specific surface density, as well as the volume of palisade parenchyma cells. These characteristics contribute to more efficient photosynthesis and adaptation to local conditions. In addition, the variety is distinguished by a convenient height of attachment of lower pods, which improves the technology of harvesting and increases the overall efficiency of cultivation.
