Sultana

The Sultana soybean variety is a high-yielding ultra-early semi-determinate variety with a vegetative period of 95 to 105 days, depending on the growing region. It is recommended for the Forest Steppe, Steppe, and Polesie zones, where it demonstrates high drought, lodging, and pod cracking resistance. Plants reach a height of 60-80 cm, have upright stems with reddish-brown hairs, and purple flowers. Leaves vary from small to medium, ovate-lanceolate in shape, slightly puckered, and green in color.

The variety is distinguished by high protein content in seeds — from 37.5% to 45%, with potential up to 43%, as well as high oil content — 20-23%. The 1000-seed mass is 160-190 g, seeds are yellow with a dark-brown hilum. The attachment height of the lower pod varies from 12 to 18 cm. Average yields in various regions reach 18.2 ц/ha, with potential yields reaching 40-45 ц/ha, making it one of the leading varieties in its maturity group for productivity in Europe.

For sowing, the recommended rate is 650-850 thousand seeds per hectare, depending on the planting scheme: 650 thousand for wide-row and 850 thousand for row planting. The recommended inter-row spacing is 12.5-19 cm. The variety is resistant to major diseases such as ascochitosis and peronosporosis, ensuring stable yields and high product quality.
