Description
Aratta — a high-yielding sugar beet hybrid designed for sugar production with high sugar content. This classic hybrid features moderate early growth and resistance to diseases such as rhizomania and cercospora, ensuring stable yields even under challenging conditions. The vegetative period is approximately 185 days, allowing cultivation during mid-to-late harvest periods. The roots have a broad-conical shape, are evenly spaced, and are inserted into the soil to about three-quarters of their height, promoting good development and quality.
The Aratta hybrid demonstrates high yield potential — up to 95 tons per hectare under adequate moisture and 70–75 tons per hectare under limited moisture. The average sugar content of the roots is around 17.5%, with a potential sugar content reaching 19.7%, making this variety especially valuable for sugar and other product production. The plant has semi-spread leaves, which facilitate optimal photosynthesis and growth.
Successful cultivation of Aratta requires fertile soils with sufficient moisture and proper agronomic care, including seed treatment, regular irrigation, and protection against pests and diseases. The hybrid is well-adapted to various soil-climate conditions in the sugar beet belt and is suitable for intensive cultivation methods with early planting and late harvest. It is also resistant to nematodes and root-eating pests, expanding its cultivation potential in areas at risk of infestation by these pests.
