Description
BIYA MS 3 is a single-shoot diploid hybrid sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L. ssp. vulgaris var. saccharifera Alef.) on a sterile N-type basis. The plant belongs to the medium-maturing, yield-sugary type with a vegetative period of about 180 days. The root has a conical or broadly conical shape of medium length, with a white underground part. Leaves are semi-erect or in an intermediate position, green in color, with a light-green petiole. Approximately 50% of the leaves from the total plant mass are ready for harvest.
The hybrid is intended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth and North Caucasus regions. The average root mass varies from 458.5 to 570 grams. Sugar content in roots reaches 15.2–18.7%, ensuring high sugar yield – up to 62.7 centners per hectare. The hybrid demonstrates moderate resistance to pests such as root cutworm and to diseases, particularly cercosporosis.
To increase the efficiency of growing BIYA MS 3, the CONVISO® SMART technology is applied, which includes the use of specialized herbicides for weed control. This technology contributes to improved growth conditions for sugar beets and increased yield through effective weed control. Thus, the hybrid combines high productivity, resistance to adverse factors, and modern agrotechnological solutions.
