Description
Sugar beet variety Boruta is a high-yielding hybrid characterized by stable productivity under various weather conditions. The average root mass is about 900 grams, and yields can reach 100 tons per hectare. The sugar content of the roots is at the level of 17-18%, making this variety attractive for industrial sugar production. Roots are buried in the soil approximately 90%, facilitating harvest and reducing crop contamination.
Hybrid Boruta demonstrates intensive early growth at the beginning of the vegetative period, ensuring good plant development and high harvest efficiency. It is resistant to major sugar beet diseases such as rhizomania, cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and phytophthora root rot, enabling stable yields even under adverse conditions. The recommended plant density at harvest is about 90-115 thousand per hectare, and the seeding rate is 1.3 seeding units per hectare.
Sugar beet Boruta is successfully grown in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones, where adequate and moderate moisture is ensured. The hybrid tolerates heat and dry periods well and is resistant to weather fluctuations. Seeding is recommended when soil temperature reaches the optimal 13-15°C, although seeds can germinate as early as +5°C. Harvesting begins in October and continues until mid-November, when sugar content reaches its maximum values.
