BTS 140 sugar beet seeds are a modern late-maturing variety developed for high yield and high-quality beet sugar. This single-stem diploid hybrid, based on sterile Z-type, features an optimal balance of yield and sugar content, confirmed by field trials. In the Central Chernozem region, root crop yield reaches 605 centners per hectare with 16.7% sugar content, ensuring 102 centners of sugar per hectare. The variety is included in the State Register and recommended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem, Volga, and Ural regions, including the Penza region.

BTS 140 exhibits good resistance to major sugar beet diseases such as cercosporosis, Fusarium rot, powdery mildew, and root rot. Over the years of testing, it showed low root rot incidence and moderate incidence of root maggots and cercosporosis, making it a reliable choice for various soil-climatic conditions. The root crop has a broad-conical shape and is fully buried in the soil, which contributes to its protection and quality development.
