Description
BTS 7820 is a high-yielding, one-tiller diploid hybrid of sugar beet of type N, registered in the State Register of Breeding Achievements in 2021. The plant is of medium height with a wide-conical root of medium length weighing approximately 784.5 g. The leaf blade is green with an intermediate sexual leaf, of medium glossiness and wrinkledness, without anthocyanin coloring. The vegetation period is approximately 140 days, which corresponds to a medium-late maturity period.
The hybrid is characterized by a medium level of resistance to Cercospora leaf spot and powdery mildew, as well as basal resistance to fusarium, which ensures crop stability and reduces disease risks. Under conditions of the North Caucasus region, BTS 7820 demonstrates a medium yield of roots of about 702.5 c/ha with a sugar content of 16.4%, which allows for a sugar harvest of up to 116.5 c/ha. Over the years of testing, the hybrid showed weak susceptibility to root rots and root eelworm.
It is recommended for cultivation in various soil and climatic conditions, especially in regions with medium and late harvest periods. BTS 7820 seeds ensure a good combination of high yield and sweetness, making this hybrid an attractive choice for agricultural producers focused on efficient sugar beet production.
