Carioca

The Carioca sugar beet hybrid is a single-stalk diploid hybrid based on a sterile N-NZ-type foundation, intended for cultivation in the Krasnodar Krai and the North Caucasus region. This hybrid belongs to the medium-late maturity group with a normal sugar level, features a conical root shape and is buried in the soil to a depth of 80-90%. The average root yield is about 556.8 c/ha, while sugar content reaches 16.6%, ensuring sugar collection at the level of 91.5 c/ha.

Carioca has moderate resistance to diseases such as cercosporosis and rumulariosis, and high resistance to root rots, powdery mildew, and rhizomania. However, the hybrid has low drought resistance, which should be taken into account when choosing growing conditions. Field trial results show yield variability from 546.6 to 869.0 c/ha and sugar collection from 8.3 to 14.4 t/ha, indicating the hybrid's good adaptability to various soil and climate conditions.

This sugar beet hybrid is recommended for use in regions with suitable climate conditions where sufficient moisture levels can be ensured. Thanks to its characteristics, Carioca is suitable for obtaining a high yield of quality raw material with good sugar content, making it an attractive choice for agricultural producers focused on efficient sugar production.
