CASCADE is a sugar beet hybrid (Beta vulgaris L. ssp. vulgaris var. saccharifera Alef.) representing a single-seed triploid or aneuploid hybrid on a sterile basis of various types (N and E). This hybrid belongs to the high-yielding and high-sugar content plant type and is characterized by high productivity and sugar content. The vegetative period ranges from 130 to 140 days, allowing its use for medium and late harvesting periods. The plant forms a spreading rosette of leaves, and the root crop has a conical shape with a mass ranging from 480 to 532 grams and is buried in the soil up to 90% of its length. CASCADE demonstrates high yield and sugar content in various growing regions. In the Central-Black Earth region, the average root crop yield reaches 375-409.4 c/ha, sugar content varies from 16.4% to 17.5%, and sugar collection reaches up to 66.8 c/ha. In the Volga-Vyatka region, yield is about 361 c/ha, while sugar content reaches 18.3%, ensuring high sugar collection. Such indicators make the hybrid attractive for sugar production in various climatic conditions. The CASCADE hybrid possesses resistance to a number of diseases, including root and cellar rots, cercosporosis, and leaf apparatus diseases. It is weakly affected by root eelworm and powdery mildew, and also differs in drought resistance, which increases its reliability and crop stability in adverse weather conditions. These qualities make CASCADE an effective choice for agronomists seeking to obtain a high and quality sugar beet yield.
