CLERAMAX

CLERAMAX is a hybrid of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L. ssp. vulgaris var. saccharifera Alef.), representing a single-stemmed diploid hybrid on a sterile Z-type base. The plant is characterized by medium height and a widely conical root crop of medium length, with a mass varying from 562 to 665.6 grams depending on the growing region. The leaves have an intermediate position, a medium width-to-length ratio of the leaf blade, weak green coloration intensity, and a green petiole. The leaf blade has medium glossiness and wrinkling, an obtuse apex shape, and no anthocyanin coloration.

The CLERAMAX hybrid is distinguished by high yield and saccharinity. In the Central Black Earth region, particularly in the Oryol region, the average root crop yield reaches 442 centners per hectare with a sugar content of 17.7%, ensuring sugar collection at the level of 89.1 centners per hectare. In the North Caucasus region, the yield is higher - 619.2 centners per hectare, with a sugar content of 16.8% and sugar collection of 107 centners per hectare. The vegetative period is about 160 days, which makes the hybrid medium-late maturing.

CLERAMAX has good resistance to pests and diseases. In the Oryol region, the plant is weakly affected by root eelworm and moderately by cercosporosis, and in the North Caucasus region, over the years of trials, no damage by diseases and pests was noted. These characteristics make the hybrid attractive for cultivation in various regions to obtain a high and quality sugar beet crop.
