Description
HARLEY is a mid-season, single-stemmed, diploid sugar beet hybrid on a sterile N-type basis, intended for cultivation in various regions, including Central, Central-Black Earth, Ural, and North Caucasus. The hybrid is distinguished by high yield and sugar content, confirmed by field trial results. In the Central region, average root crop yield reaches 747 ц/ha with sugar content of about 17.4%, while in the Tula region, yield can reach 958 ц/ha with sugar content up to 17.4%. In the North Caucasus region, yield is about 570 ц/ha with 16.4% sugar content. Root crop mass varies from 427 g in the Ural region to 721 g in the Central region.
The HARLEY hybrid demonstrates resistance to major sugar beet diseases. In various regions, very weak infection by cercospora and root rot is noted, as well as moderate infection by root rots and powdery mildew. Such resistance allows maintaining high yield and product quality even under unfavorable growing conditions.
For successful sugar beet cultivation, HARLEY requires optimal temperature conditions and sufficient lighting. Seeds are capable of germinating at temperatures from +5°C, however, 13-15°C is considered optimal. High sugar content and yield make the hybrid an attractive choice for agrarians seeking to obtain high-quality and stable sugar beet yield resistant to diseases and unfavorable factors.
