Hero

Hero is a classic diploid hybrid sugar beet, oriented towards high yield and sugar content. It has genetically enhanced sugar content, reaching an average of 18.2-18.3%, ensuring high sugar yield up to 12.2 t/ha. The roots have an oval-conical shape with about 85% of them buried in the soil, and the leaf rosette is medium-sized and dark green. The hybrid demonstrates stable root yield, reaching 79-87.5 t/ha, making it attractive for cultivation in various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine. Hero is distinguished by high resistance to major sugar beet diseases, including anthracnose, cercospora, rhizomania, powdery mildew, as well as to flowering and root rot. Moreover, the variety shows good drought and cold resistance, broadening its cultivation potential under various climatic conditions. The hybrid has good storability, facilitating harvest storage and reducing losses during transportation. Recommended for sowing in early to mid-season in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones. Sowing rate is 1.4 p.e./ha or 4-5 plants per linear meter, ensuring optimal area utilization and maximum yield potential. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, the hybrid Hero is a promising choice for producers seeking high and stable sugar beet yields with high sugar content.
