Description
IVAGRA is a high-yielding sugar beet hybrid (Beta vulgaris L. ssp. vulgaris var. saccharifera Alef.) intended for cultivation in various regions of Russia. The hybrid belongs to medium-maturing high-yielding and high-sugar varieties and is characterized by a single-seed structure. IVAGRA seeds are treated with a fungicide and coated, which increases plant resistance to diseases and improves sugar recovery.
The hybrid demonstrates high yield and sugar content in roots. In the Central region, average yield reaches 403 c/ha with 18.3% sugar content, providing sugar recovery at the level of 73.5 c/ha. In other regions, such as the Central Black Earth and North Caucasian regions, root yield varies from 412 to 514.5 c/ha, with sugar content of about 17.3–18.1%, allowing for high sugar recovery up to 89.2 c/ha. Root mass is approximately 531–556 g, indicating the hybrid's large-fruited nature.
IVAGRA possesses good resistance to major sugar beet diseases. During testing years, weak or moderate infection with powdery mildew, Cercospora, and root rots was noted, as well as moderate root nematode infestation. Due to these characteristics and high productivity, the hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various agro-climatic zones, including the Central, Central Black Earth, Volga-Vyatka, Urals, and North Caucasian regions, as well as Kursk Oblast and Krasnodar Krai.
