It is a medium-height, single-stemmed, diploid plant, based on a sterile N-type foundation. The root crop has a medium-length, broad-conical shape, facilitating harvesting and processing.
The MATROS hybrid exhibits high drought resistance and resistance to "copper disease," ensuring stable yields even under adverse weather conditions. It also demonstrates resistance to major leaf and root crop diseases, including root rots, root maggots, and cercosporosis, significantly reducing losses during storage and transport. Due to these traits, the variety is suitable for early and mid-late harvests, expanding agrotechnical planning options.
In terms of yield and sugar content, MATROS delivers high performance: in the Central Chernozem region, the average root crop yield reaches 442 centners per hectare with 16.4% sugar content, while in the Middle Volga region, the yield is 584 centners per hectare with 16.3% sugar content. Sugar harvest in both regions exceeds 87 centners per hectare, indicating high quality of refined normal juice and efficient use of this hybrid in sugar production.
