Meteor

Meteor is a single-seed-row diploid hybrid of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L. ssp. vulgaris var. saccharifera Alef.) on a sterile N-type base, intended for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including the Krasnodar region. This mid-season hybrid is distinguished by high yield and sugar content, making it attractive for agricultural production. The vegetative period is about 150-160 days, allowing for a stable and quality harvest.

The root crop of Meteor has a broadly conical shape with a medium degree of soil immersion, which facilitates harvest collection. The hybrid is characterized by a healthy foliage and high juice purity, which promotes efficient sugar production. Yield reaches 83 tons per hectare, with sugar content at about 18.3%, and sugar output reaching 15.2 tons per hectare, indicating the high potential of the hybrid.

Meteor has high resistance to root rot and drought, ensuring reliable cultivation in complex conditions. Resistance to diseases such as cercosporosis, ramularia, and powdery mildew is assessed as moderate, which requires adherence to agrotechnical measures to maintain plant health.
