PROTES

The PROTES sugar beet hybrid is a single-plant diploid first-generation hybrid on a sterile NZ-type basis, characterized by high yield and resistance to major diseases. It possesses triple resistance to rhizomania, rhizoctonia, and cercosporosis, ensuring reliable protection of root crops from root rots and other diseases. Thanks to these qualities, the hybrid stores well in cellars and sheds fewer leaves under drought conditions, making it particularly valuable for cultivation in complex climatic conditions.

PROTES belongs to mid-late or late-maturing plant types with high sugar content, which varies depending on the growing region. In the Central Black Earth region, average yield reaches 556 c/ha with sugar content of about 17.6%, while in the North Caucasus region, yield is about 396–542 c/ha with sugar content ranging from 15.8% to 17%. Root mass ranges from 460 to 900 grams, indicating good large-sized and market appeal of the product.

The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various agro-climatic zones, including Polesie, Forest-steppe, Steppe, as well as the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, and Urals regions. Optimal sowing density is about 90 thousand plants per hectare with a sowing rate of 1.3 seed units/ha. PROTES demonstrates high productivity and yield stability even with insufficient rainfall, making it a profitable choice for agricultural producers focused on obtaining high sugar harvest and quality root crops.
