Description
Sugar beet of the SILANTO variety is a high-yielding hybrid of normal type, characterized by high resistance to major leaf and root diseases. This hybrid features a large leaf rosette with semi-erect green leaves having a slightly wrinkled surface. The root has an oval-conical shape and is buried in the soil to 95%, which contributes to its good storage quality and resistance to adverse conditions. SILANTO demonstrates high plasticity and stable yield performance across various soil-climatic zones, including the Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Steppe.
The hybrid is characterized by high yield — up to 75 tons of roots per hectare with an average root mass of about 800 grams. Sucrose content reaches 18.7%, ensuring good technological properties for processing. SILANTO is suitable for early and mid-late harvests; the recommended plant density at harvest is 90–115 thousand plants per hectare, and the sowing rate is 1.4 seeding units per hectare.
In addition to high productivity, the variety exhibits resistance to diseases such as anthracnose, ramulariosis, rhizomania, and tolerance to cercospora, powdery mildew, rhizoctonia, and rust. It also shows resistance to drought and cold, has good storability, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions.
