Field experience with the Stoletov hybrid

A standout feature is its resistance to root rot; in fields with historical phytosanitary challenges, the crop exhibits uniform emergence and low mortality, which is crucial for achieving an optimal plant stand density.

Agronomics and Disease Management

From an operator's perspective, 'Stoletov' simplifies the management cycle. The hybrid displays significant tolerance to Cercospora leaf spot and powdery mildew. We have observed that the foliage retains high photosynthetic activity even during peak disease pressure, which allows for more efficient fungicide scheduling and reduced expenditure per hectare. Its resistance to storage rots is another advantage, ensuring that the beets maintain their quality during the critical post-harvest period.

Morphology and Harvesting

The cylindrical-conical shape of the root is highly conducive to mechanical harvesting. The roots are uniform and of average size, sitting perfectly within the soil profile. This design simplifies harvester settings, reduces mechanical damage, and minimizes harvest losses. The reduced amount of soil clinging to the roots after harvest also improves the logistics chain, ensuring cleaner delivery to the processing facility.
