Alvarez IR

Alvarez IR hybrid sunflower is a high-yielding and adaptable variety developed using Clearfield (IMI) technology, providing herbicide resistance and effective weed control. It belongs to the mid-early maturity group with a vegetation period of 105 to 115 days, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, including the forest-steppe and steppe regions of Ukraine. Plant height reaches 160-180 cm, with a convex head shape, diameter of 21-23 cm, and a half-downward tilt, which promotes optimal seed formation and facilitates harvest.

Alvarez IR exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including downy mildew, phomopsis, rust, gray and white rot, as well as to races A-E of downy mildew. The hybrid demonstrates excellent drought and stress tolerance, allowing it to maintain stable yields even under adverse weather conditions. Seed oil content ranges from 46 to 52%, ensuring high oil productivity. Yield potential reaches 5.5 tons per hectare, with an average yield of approximately 4.1 tons per hectare.

Recommended seeding rate depends on soil moisture levels: 40-45 thousand seeds per hectare for low moisture, and 50-55 thousand for adequate moisture. Thousand seed weight is 56-60 grams, indicating good seed size and quality. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation under various soil-climatic conditions, has high tolerance to diseases and pests, and is resistant to lodging, which simplifies agronomic practices and enhances economic efficiency of production.
