Description
AS 33 109 is a mid-early sunflower hybrid (Helianthus annuus L.) developed using Clearfield technology and resistant to imidazolinones. The plant is of medium height, non-branching, with a medium-sized green leaf having medium bubbleiness and serration. Trichomes on the upper stem are moderate. Ligule flowers are yellow and spindle-shaped; tubular flowers are orange, with no anthocyanin coloration on the stigmas. The head is semi-downward facing, medium to large in size, with a strongly convex seed side. Seeds are narrowly egg-shaped, black in color, lacking or having weak gray stripes. The mass of 1000 seeds is approximately 59 grams.
The hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to white mold, as well as tolerance to Phoma, gray mold, and races of dodder A-G, ensuring its reliability under various agro-climatic conditions. It is resistant to lodging and shattering, contributing to yield preservation. The vegetative period is about 117 days, with an optimal seeding density of 50-55 thousand plants per hectare.
AS 33 109 shows high yield: average seed yield in growing regions reaches 22.6-27.4 c/ha, while the maximum yield recorded is 34.8 c/ha in the Krasnodar region. Oil content in seeds ranges from 46% to 50.6%, providing an average oil collection of about 14 c/ha. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the North Caucasus, Central Black Earth, Central Volga, Lower Volga, and Ural regions.
