Technological Potential of the Bollil Hybrid

The French sunflower hybrid Bollil from R2N is an intensive simple hybrid designed to deliver stable yields within a tight timeframe. With a vegetation period of 90–100 days, this hybrid is an excellent solution for early sowing or as a reliable option for late-season planting. The plant's compact height (170–180 cm) reduces lodging risks even under conditions of intensive mineral nutrition.

Phytosanitary Defense

A key feature of Bollil lies in the rigorous breeding program conducted by RAGT 2n. The hybrid exhibits strong resistance to downy mildew (peronosporosis), which is critical for securing plant populations during the early stages of development. The protection system includes active resistance against a complex of common pathogens:

• Phomopsis: genetically determined resistance helps preserve leaf surface area.
• Rots: high resistance to gray and white rot minimizes yield losses during head maturation.
• Powdery Mildew: reduces the need for heavy fungicide applications.

The convex shape of the head promotes natural moisture drainage, preventing water stagnation and the subsequent development of secondary infections. The narrow egg-shaped black seeds possess optimal density, simplifying combine harvester settings during threshing—calibration of seed ducts and threshing drum clearances can be achieved with minimal mechanical seed damage.
