BT 21

BT 21 sunflower hybrid is a medium-early variety adapted for cultivation in Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones. It has a vegetation period of 108-112 days and belongs to the linoleic oil type. Plants reach a height of 160-180 cm, have large heads with a diameter of 15-24 cm, high shell strength, and a 1000-seed mass of 77-85 g. The hybrid is characterized by uniform flowering and maturation, as well as high resistance to lodging and head breakage, which contributes to yield preservation.

BT 21 has genetic resistance to aggressive strains of downy mildew (A-F), as well as tolerance to diseases such as phomopsis, gray and white rot, and false powdery mildew. High drought resistance and rapid head moisture release upon maturation make this hybrid especially valuable under conditions of insufficient moisture. Recommended seeding density varies depending on the cultivation zone: 50-55 thousand plants per hectare for zones with insufficient moisture and 60-65 thousand plants per hectare for zones with sufficient moisture.

The yield of BT 21 hybrid is approximately 39.7-41.6 centners per hectare, with oil content in seeds reaching 51.7-52.14%. Due to its flexibility regarding sowing timing and resistance to adverse factors, this hybrid is suitable for cultivation under semi-intensive and extensive conditions, ensuring a stable and high yield under various agronomic practices.
