Sunflower variety CAUCASIAN is an early-maturing, high-oil content crop with plant height ranging from 130 to 190 cm. The 1000-seed mass varies from 45.8 to 83.9 g, and the oil content in seeds reaches 46.3–48.0%, making this variety especially valuable for sunflower oil production. The protein content of seeds is 20.3–21.5%, further enhancing the nutritional value of the harvest. Average yield in state variety trials ranges from 17.6 to 30.2 c/ha, indicating high productivity of the variety.

Plants exhibit resistance to diseases such as false powdery mildew and downy mildew, ensuring stable yields even under severe infection of standard varieties. However, the variety is susceptible to white mold. The sunflower stem is erect, non-branching, with stiff hairs, and the root system is strong, with a deep taproot penetrating up to 2–3 meters, contributing to drought resistance and improved plant nutrition.

The flower head of the CAUCASIAN variety has an average size, typical for oilseed sunflowers, with yellow ray florets along the edge and bisexual disc florets in the center. Seeds have a dark coloration with slight striping and thin seed coat, facilitating processing. The vegetation period is approximately 85–87 days, allowing the variety to be grown in regions with short warm seasons. Due to its combination of high oil content, disease resistance, and good yield, the CAUCASIAN variety is a reliable choice for cultivation both on an industrial scale and on private farms.
