The 'Kursor' sunflower is a product of the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS, developed specifically for the soil and climatic conditions of Ukraine. The core engineering objective of the originator was to build a robust barrier against the pathogens that are most aggressive during the peak vegetation period.

Technical resistance profile

The hybrid’s protection system relies on complex immunity against key fungal diseases:

• Alternaria blight: prevents premature drying of leaves and stems, maintaining the plant's photosynthetic apparatus until physiological maturity.
• Powdery mildew: selection solutions eliminate the formation of white fungal growth on vegetative organs, which is critical under high humidity.
• Scab: resistance ensures the integrity of the head and stem epidermis, blocking the entry of secondary infections.

These parameters allow for a reduction in the fungicide load on the field. In practical terms, 'Kursor' maintains a high yield potential even with fewer sprayings, significantly lowering production costs. Due to NAAS breeding, the hybrid demonstrates stable root system development and optimal leaf area, ensuring efficient oil accumulation in the seeds when standard agronomic practices are followed.
