Field Performance of the Elitson Hybrid

Working with the Elitson sunflower hybrid from the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute, I can highlight its reliability in terms of farm logistics. As a three-line hybrid, it exhibits excellent uniformity across the field, which simplifies header settings during harvesting and reduces mechanical losses at the auger. With a plant height of 160–170 cm, the crop stands strong against lodging, ensuring a smooth transition for the combine harvester during the harvest season.

Agronomic Management and Protection

From an operator's perspective, this hybrid is low-maintenance regarding disease control. Its genetic resistance to downy mildew (peronosporosis), phomopsis, and phoma allows for significant savings on fungicide applications, effectively lowering the cost per ton of yield. The crop maintains a healthy leaf canopy throughout the growing cycle, requiring only standard field care protocols.

Harvesting Efficiency

The 100–110 day vegetation cycle is a distinct advantage for harvest planning. It allows for timely harvesting before the typical autumn rains, ensuring lower moisture content in the seeds and significantly reducing drying costs. The large, well-filled heads consistently provide a high bunker weight, making Elitson a predictable and profitable choice for any commercial operation.
