Description
ES Alpha is a high-yielding interlinear hybrid of sunflower with an oilseed usage direction. It is characterized by high plasticity and is adapted for cultivation in arid zones of steppes and forest-steppes, providing excellent drought and heat tolerance. The vegetation period of the hybrid is 115-120 days, plant height reaches 170-200 cm, and due to its strong root system and sturdy stems, it is resistant to lodging and effectively utilizes the nutrient and water potential of the soil.
ES Alpha exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including false powdery mildew, Phomopsis, Phomosis, as well as white and gray rot. Additionally, the hybrid is resistant to seven races of the sunflower moth parasite (races A-G+) and tolerant to herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl, such as Granstar and Express, with a maximum single application rate of 50 g/ha. The flower head diameter reaches up to 22 cm with a tilt of approximately 45°, promoting rapid and uniform seed maturation.
The yield potential of ES Alpha is 50-55 centners/ha, with oil content in seeds ranging from 43% to 52%, making it a high-oil hybrid. The 1000-seed weight is approximately 60 g. The hybrid responds well to high agrofond and mineral fertilizers, further enhancing its productivity. Due to its characteristics, ES Alpha is a reliable choice for intensive sunflower cultivation under challenging climatic conditions.
