FREYA is a mid-season, two-line hybrid sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) intended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, and Ural regions. The hybrid's vegetation period varies from 114 to 125 days depending on the region, with plant height reaching 170–200 cm, which is above average. Seeds have a 1000-seed mass of about 59.5 g, with orange-yellow ray florets and green leaves. The hybrid is characterized by weak pittedness and lack of branching, as well as distinct marginal stripes on the seeds. FREYA exhibits high yield and oil content, with potential yields up to 49 centners per hectare and oil content in seeds ranging from 48 to 51%. Average oil content is approximately 48.9–49.8%, ensuring oil harvests of 9.9–12.6 centners per hectare. Optimal planting density is 60–65 thousand plants per hectare, which maximizes the hybrid's productive qualities. FREYA possesses high drought tolerance, making it suitable for more northern and arid cultivation areas. The hybrid is resistant to lodging and shattering, and demonstrates tolerance to a broad spectrum of diseases, including downy mildew A–E, gray and white mold, false powdery mildew, peronosporosis, rust, verticillium, and alternaria. In field conditions, it is lightly affected by dry rot and rust, ensuring stable yields and product quality. Due to these characteristics, FREYA is a reliable choice for farmers seeking high-quality sunflower yields under various climatic conditions.
