Granada

Granada sunflower is a simple hybrid designed for conventional cultivation technology, characterized by high yield potential and resistance to adverse conditions. This hybrid has been included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2015 and is recommended for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Steppe zones. The vegetation period is 102-104 days, and plant height reaches 150-170 cm. Granada forms a slender but strong stem and a thin head, which contributes to effective grain filling even under drought conditions due to its deep root system.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to common sunflower diseases, including false powdery mildew, Phomopsis, Phomosis, rust, as well as pests such as the sunflower moth and ragweed, to which it is resistant to 7 races (A-G). Additionally, Granada shows herbicide resistance, facilitating crop maintenance and reducing protection costs. The oil content of the seeds is 49-51%, with husk content within 22-24%, ensuring high-quality raw material.

The yield potential of the Granada sunflower exceeds 55 c/ha, making it an attractive choice for farmers seeking stable and high yields with minimal expenses. Growth intensity during the early vegetative stage is moderate, which contributes to good adaptation to soil-climatic conditions. Due to the combination of high productivity, disease and drought resistance, as well as high-quality seed characteristics, Granada is a reliable and efficient solution for sunflower cultivation in Ukraine.
