Description
GRANDSAN is a high-yielding three-line sunflower hybrid with resistance to the herbicide Granstar and sunflower rust. It is characterized by a growing period of about 105 days, plant height from 150 to 170 cm, and a head diameter of 22-24 cm. The weight of 1000 seeds is 67-74 grams. The hybrid is characterized by uniformity in height and development stages, as well as high resistance to major diseases and heat tolerance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the Central Black Earth and North Caucasian regions.
A feature of GRANDSAN is its genetic resistance to tribenuron-methyl — the active substance of the Granstar herbicide and similar preparations. This allows the use of the SUMO technology, in which crops are treated with the herbicide after the appearance of 2-4 true sunflower leaves. Such treatment effectively eliminates a wide range of dicot weeds, including black mustard, sorrel, sandbur, pigweed and burdock, without harming the sunflower plants themselves.
The Granstar-based sunflower growing technology for GRANDSAN has gained widespread popularity among farmers due to its efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Using this hybrid allows significantly reducing costs for weed control, increasing yield, and reducing risks associated with sunflower rust infection. Thanks to the combination of resistance to herbicides and diseases, as well as adaptation to hot conditions, GRANDSAN is an optimal choice for modern agricultural complexes.
