Working with the 'Hors' hybrid from the Serbian IFVCNS (Novi Sad) institute, agronomists value its predictability and uniformity. With a plant height of 170-180 cm, it is perfectly suited for standard combine harvesters, ensuring minimal harvest losses if the header is set correctly.

Field Protection and Resilience

The key advantage of 'Hors' is its genetic resistance to broomrape (races A-E), which is critical for fields with high infection pressure. The phytosanitary condition of the fields remains clean, as the hybrid effectively resists phomopsis and sunflower rust. A 110-120 day vegetation period allows for precise harvesting scheduling, reducing the risk of weather-related delays.

Seed Characteristics

• Oil content: 45-50%, a highly valued parameter for elevator processing.
• Appearance: Black seeds with a globose-elongated shape and medium size, which ensures easy calibration of seed drills.
• Head: Medium size, well-filled, and resistant to shedding even if left in the field slightly past maturity.

Operational experience demonstrates that 'Hors' does not require radical changes to existing crop management practices. Standard fertilization and protection programs are sufficient to reach its full potential.
