KARINA — a mid-season sunflower hybrid with high productivity and resistance to various adverse factors. The vegetative period ranges from 110 to 123 days, allowing the hybrid to grow successfully under various climatic conditions. Plants reach a height of 150–160 cm, and the flower head diameter is 22–24 cm. The 1000-seed mass varies from 55 to 65 grams, indicating high-quality seed material. The hybrid belongs to the olive type and is characterized by high oil content — up to 51% — making it attractive for oil production. KARINA exhibits resistance to sulfonylureas and imidazolinone herbicides, providing effective control of problematic weeds such as ragweed, ambrosia, and others. The hybrid demonstrates high drought and stress tolerance, enabling it to maintain productivity under adverse weather conditions. Additionally, it is highly resistant to lodging and shattering, which helps preserve yield and facilitates harvest. The hybrid’s genetic resistance covers a broad spectrum of diseases: downy mildew (A–E), fusarium, phomopsis, rust, white and gray mold, and powdery mildew. Due to these qualities, KARINA is suitable for cultivation using both conventional and intensive technologies on various soil types. Recommended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, and Ural regions, including Voronezh, Stavropol, Volgograd, Orenburg regions, and the Republic of Bashkortostan. Optimal planting density ranges from 50,000 to 65,000 plants per hectare depending on the region.
