Kochetok

Kochetok is an early-maturing interlinear sunflower hybrid characterized by a vegetation period of 102 days. Mature plants reach a height of up to 175 cm, and the diameter of the strongly convex head is 22 cm. The hybrid is distinguished by high oil content in mature seeds, reaching 50%, with a luster of 22% and a shell content of 99.4%. The recommended plant density at harvest is 55 thousand plants per hectare, contributing to optimal yield. The Kochetok hybrid exhibits high resistance to various stress factors and diseases. It demonstrates good resistance to lodging and shattering (8 points each), drought (7 points), powdery mildew (8 points), downy mildew (8 points), and rot (7 points). Due to these qualities and under the condition of applying mineral and chelated fertilizers, the yield potential of the hybrid reaches 37 centners per hectare, equivalent to 3.7 tons per hectare. This makes Kochetok a highly efficient and reliable choice for cultivation in the forest-steppe zone. The sunflower Kochetok is widely used for oil production due to the high oil content in its seeds. After processing, the seeds yield meal, which is a valuable byproduct. Meal is rich in protein, fat, and vitamin E, making it a beneficial supplement for animal and poultry feed. It improves animal health and is widely used in livestock and aquaculture. For storage, meal should be kept in bags and protected from pests and direct sunlight.
