Kobzar

Kobzar — a high-yielding, simple hybrid sunflower of medium-early maturity group with a vegetation period of 105-112 days. Plants reach a height of 165-175 cm, and the flower head diameter varies from 15.6 to 18.6 cm. The hybrid is characterized by simultaneous ripening and even emergence, facilitating harvest and increasing the efficiency of agronomic practices. Seeds contain 48.8–49.9% oil and 15.5–17.9% protein, making Kobzar attractive for linseed oil production.

One of the key features of Kobzar is its enhanced tolerance to herbicides containing tribenuron-methyl. Tolerance to single application of the preparation at a rate of 50 g/ha allows effective control of a wide spectrum of weeds. The hybrid also exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including false powdery mildew, fusarium, white and gray mold, and rust, confirmed by high tolerance ratings (7–9). In addition, Kobzar is resistant to 7 races of the parasitic weed dodder, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss.

The hybrid demonstrates high drought tolerance and ecological plasticity, ensuring its productive adaptation in various soil-climate zones of Ukraine, particularly in steppes and forest-steppe regions. The recommended planting density at harvest is 55–60 thousand plants per hectare, depending on growing conditions. The potential yield of Kobzar reaches 55–60 ц/ha, making it an attractive choice for farmers aiming to achieve stable and high-quality sunflower yields.
