"Krayan" is a simple sunflower hybrid developed through the collaboration of Ukraine's leading agricultural research institutions, including the V.Ya. Yuriev Institute of Plant Production and the National Research Center "Institute of Agriculture of NAAS". The design of this hybrid focuses on delivering stable yields within the volatile climate of the steppe and forest-steppe zones.

Phytosanitary Resistance as a Yield Driver

The core advantage of "Krayan" lies in its robust genetic defense mechanism. By incorporating high levels of resistance to downy mildew (peronosporosis), phomopsis, and phoma, the hybrid allows growers to optimize their crop protection strategies. • Vegetation period: 105–110 days. This ultra-early maturity profile is a tactical advantage, allowing the crop to complete its development cycle before the onset of late-summer heat and moisture stress.
• Plant architecture: Reaches a height of 150–170 cm. This uniform stature provides excellent lodging resistance and simplifies mechanized harvesting operations.
• Seed quality: Oil content ranges from 47–49 %. The hybrid exhibits high metabolic efficiency, ensuring consistent oil accumulation even under varying moisture regimes.
• Head characteristics: Large head size, which reflects efficient resource distribution from the leaf canopy to the achenes during the seed filling process.
