The LG50689 SX sunflower is a mid-season, high-yield hybrid developed by Limagrain. The plant features above-average height, approximately 175 cm, with a flower head diameter of 17 cm. The thousand seed weight is 74 grams, indicating a large-seeded hybrid. This sunflower belongs to the linoleic type and is grown using the Express technology, which involves applying the herbicide Granstar (Express 75 WG) after emergence at a rate up to 50 g/ha, and it is recommended to add the surfactant Trend 90 to enhance treatment effectiveness. LG50689 SX is characterized by high yield potential and stability, making it attractive for intensive agriculture. The hybrid has high oil content (rating 9 out of 10) and energy for early growth, promoting rapid plant development. It exhibits good resistance to stress conditions, cold tolerance, and lodging resistance, ensuring reliable yields under various climatic conditions in the northern steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. Special attention is given to disease resistance. LG50689 SX shows high tolerance to races of downy mildew A-F+, as well as to diseases such as rust, false powdery mildew (MGP), frogeye leaf spot, root and head rot, charcoal rot, dry rot, and fomosis. Thanks to this, the hybrid is an optimal solution for regions where these infections are prevalent. It is recommended to strictly follow seeding rates: at insufficient moisture – 45-50 thousand seeds per hectare, at sufficient moisture – up to 55 thousand/ha, which contributes to maximum productivity and quality of the harvest.
