For me, the most important factor in choosing a hybrid is its immune system. Malcom handles the main regional pathogens quite effectively:

• Downy mildew (Peronospora): during periods of high humidity, when nearby fields start showing signs of infection, Malcom stays clean.
• Phomopsis and Phoma: Maisadour's breeding team has clearly put in the work here, allowing us to save money on extra fungicide applications.

Being a simple hybrid, it significantly simplifies the sowing campaign planning. There is no need to agonize over complex treatment schedules to combat diseases. The plants are strong and uniform, which is critical during harvest—the combine moves smoothly, and header losses are minimized.

In terms of profitability, Malcom is a workhorse. We aren't chasing record-breaking yields in perfect conditions; we need stability under stress.
