Genetic Potential and Agronomic Indicators of the "Nadezhda" Sunflower

A selection product from Agroplazma, developed in collaboration with the I.V. Michurin Federal Research Center, the "Nadezhda" sunflower is a classic mid-early variety. The design focus was centered on achieving an optimal balance between the vegetation period and the plant's physiological resistance to pathogens.

Biological Characteristics and Phytosanitary Control

With a vegetation period of 100–110 days, "Nadezhda" is well-suited for diverse climatic zones. The plant reaches a height of 170–180 cm, providing convenience for mechanized harvesting and allowing efficient nutrient distribution during the seed-filling stage.

• Oil Content: The genetically determined oil yield is 45–50%, classifying this as a high-oil variety.
• Immunity: Significant effort has been put into the defense against critical sunflower pathogens. The variety exhibits pronounced resistance to phomopsis and various types of rot, which helps reduce dependency on fungicide applications.
• Seed Quality: Large seed size ensures vigorous early growth, which is essential for uniform emergence when sowing in soil that has not yet reached peak temperatures.

Practical Application

Choosing "Nadezhda" is justified for farms prioritizing stability and adaptability. By combining earliness with high disease resistance, this variety mitigates yield loss risks even in seasons with high infection pressure.
