Paladin

Paladin sunflower hybrid belongs to the medium-early group with a vegetative period of about 95–125 days. It is characterized by high yield, reaching a maximum of 43.6 c/ha, and possesses high oil content in seeds ranging from 46–54%. The 1000-seed mass is approximately 66.8 g, indicating good seed quality. Paladin is an extensive-type hybrid, allowing it to be successfully grown under various climatic conditions, including areas with insufficient moisture.

One of the key features of this hybrid is its resistance to a broad spectrum of diseases and pests. Paladin demonstrates resistance to seven races of downy mildew (A-G), as well as tolerance to diseases such as Phomopsis, Alternaria, downy mildew, gray mold, and rust. Additionally, it is resistant to Clearfield Plus herbicide system, facilitating weed control and enhancing the efficiency of agronomic practices.

The hybrid is stable and capable of forming high yields even under adverse weather conditions. It responds well to fertilizer application, enabling optimal agronomic management and increased productivity. The recommended plant population at harvest varies depending on moisture levels: in areas with sufficient moisture — 55 000–60 000 plants per hectare, in areas with insufficient moisture — 50 000–55 000 plants per hectare. Paladin is suitable for cultivation in the Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, and Lower Volga regions.
