Description
RGT Donatello sunflower is a high-yielding hybrid developed for cultivation under various climatic conditions, especially in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones of Ukraine. This mid-early hybrid with a vegetation period of 107-110 days is characterized by stability and adaptability, ensuring its suitability for different soil-climatic conditions. Plants reach a height of about 170 cm, and their heads are upright, facilitating mechanical harvest.
One of the key features of RGT Donatello is its high resistance to diseases, including new strains of powdery mildew, and resistance to the parasite — downy mildew (A-F). The hybrid is also tolerant to herbicides from the imidazolin group, enabling effective application of conventional herbicide protection systems. Plants show active response to fertilizers and are resistant to seed polishing, which contributes to improved quality and quantity of the harvest.
Sunflower seeds of RGT Donatello are characterized by high oil content — from 51 to 54%, making this hybrid particularly attractive for oilseed production. Yield potential reaches 54 centners per hectare, and trial results confirm a stable yield of 42 centners per hectare. Use of the seed treatment Maxim XL provides additional seed protection at planting, promoting successful plant development and high productivity.
