The breeding program of 'Terra-Yug Ukraine' represents an adaptive approach to intensive farming. The Richard hybrid is engineered as a tool for obtaining stable yields under severe infectious pressure and moisture deficit conditions. It is a simple sunflower hybrid designed for farmers who prioritize predictable vegetation cycles.

Phytosanitary barrier

The key feature of Richard is its robust genetic resistance base. The hybrid's immunity structure is focused on blocking the most destructive diseases:

• Rot complex: effective resistance to white and grey rot ensures the integrity of the head and stalk, even during periods of excessive humidity at maturation.
• Fungal infections: the selection shows high tolerance to phomopsis and rust, significantly reducing the need for fungicide treatments and, consequently, lowering the cost per hectare.

Agronomic characteristics and herbicide management

A plant height of 140–150 cm ensures an optimal architecture for mechanized harvesting without excessive green biomass that could delay ripening. With a vegetation period of 90–100 days, this hybrid is classified as early-maturing, allowing for efficient use of summer rainfall and avoidance of late August droughts.

Realizing the oil content potential (45–50%) depends directly on the quality of weed control. Thanks to its resistance to the 'Euro-Lightning' herbicide system, Richard enables clean sowing, suppressing even the most stubborn weeds, including broomrape (Orobanche), without the risk of crop suppression. This solution turns a field into a technological conveyor, where the plant's primary energy is directed exclusively toward yield formation and oil accumulation rather than competing with weeds.
