Description
RIMI 2 sunflower is a Serbian hybrid developed by the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad, designed for cultivation using the Clearfield (Eurorighting) technology. This mid-early hybrid with a vegetation period of 110-115 days features intensive early growth and high adaptability, making it an optimal choice for various climatic zones in Ukraine, including the Forest-Steppe, Steppe, and especially southern regions with dry conditions. Plants reach a height of 160-170 cm and have a strong, medium-thick stem and a robust root system, ensuring resilience to adverse factors. One of the key features of RIMI 2 is its high resistance to all known strains of downy mildew (volchok), including A-G and H, thanks to the Clearfield technology. The hybrid also shows high tolerance to major sunflower diseases such as fusarium, fusariosis, alternaria, and sunflower moth infestations, as well as high field resistance to powdery mildew. These qualities ensure stable yields and reduce the risk of losses during cultivation. RIMI 2 is characterized by high yield potential — up to 5.5 tons per hectare (or more than 55 centners per hectare), with oil content in seeds reaching 47-50%, making it profitable for oil production. The recommended planting density varies depending on the region: from 45-50 thousand plants per hectare in southern and dry steppe areas to 55-60 thousand in the forest-steppe zone. Thanks to its combination of high yield, stress and disease resistance, and excellent oil characteristics, RIMI 2 sunflower is a reliable and efficient solution for farmers aiming for stable and profitable production.
