Description
The hybrid sunflower Stearin was developed by scientists of VNIIMK with the aim of producing oil with high content of stearic and oleic acids. This oil is characterized by enhanced oxidative stability and unique physicochemical properties, making it a useful alternative to palm oil. Due to these characteristics, Stearin seed oil is widely used in the food and cosmetic industries and is considered a promising direction for Russian agricultural exports.
The hybrid has high yield and resistance to seven races of downy mildew (A–G), as well as to false powdery mildew. It is intended for cultivation using classical technology with optimal planting density of 50–55 thousand plants per hectare. Oil content in seeds reaches 50%, ensuring high efficiency of oil production.
Stearin is suitable for cultivation in various regions, including Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, Lower Volga, Ural, and West Siberian regions. Its resistance to diseases and high productivity make this hybrid an attractive choice for farmers seeking to obtain high-quality oil with improved properties.
