Sulfosol

Sunflower hybrid Sulfosol is a modern breeding development with high resistance to sulfonylurea herbicides, particularly to the active ingredient tribenuron-methyl. This hybrid has a medium-early maturity with a vegetation period of 110–112 days and is adapted for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine on various soil types. Sulfosol is characterized by high drought resistance and resistance to a range of diseases, including false powdery mildew, rusts A–G+, black leg, peronosporosis, fomopsis, rust, gray and white rot, as well as sunflower moth. The hybrid has a high yield potential of up to 55 ц/ha, with an average yield over test years of about 37.5 ц/ha. Sulfosol seeds contain oil in the range of 50–52%, making it attractive for oilseed production. Plants reach a height of approximately 180 cm, with a convex flower head of 22–24 cm in diameter and a semi-leaning position, which promotes good pollen distribution and effective pollination. Recommended seeding density depends on soil moisture levels: under adequate moisture, optimal density is 65–55 thousand plants per hectare; under moderate moisture – 50–55 thousand; and under insufficient moisture – 45–50 thousand plants per hectare. Due to its combination of resistance to stress factors, diseases, and herbicides, along with stable yield performance, Sulfosol is a reliable choice for farmers seeking high-quality and economically viable sunflower yields.
