Genetic Potential and Adaptability

"Svichoch" is a simple sunflower hybrid developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute. Its key feature is an ultra-early vegetation period (80–90 days). This technical solution is ideal for regions with short growing seasons or double-cropping systems where rapid biomass accumulation is critical. The combination of narrow-ovoid seed shape and high oil content (50–55%) makes this hybrid highly efficient for post-harvest processing.

Phytosanitary Defense System

The hybrid's design focuses on immunity against a complex of pathogens. Genetic resistance to downy mildew eliminates the risk of early crop failure. High tolerance to various rots (white, gray, sclerotiniosis) allows for more flexible crop rotation and reduced fungicide applications. The hybrid’s resistance to sunflower broomrape is a significant advantage, making it suitable for fields with high infection pressure.

Morphological Profile

The plant reaches a moderate height of 140–150 cm, ensuring structural integrity and minimizing the risk of lodging during strong winds. The large convex head efficiently accumulates nutrients within a short timeframe, ensuring uniform maturation of the small-sized seeds even under heat-stress conditions.
