SY Flamenco

Sunflower SY Flamenco is a mid-late maturing hybrid with a maturity period of approximately 116-126 days, developed by Syngenta. This moderately vigorous hybrid features a high yield potential reaching up to 5 tons per hectare, comparable to the hybrid NK Armoni. The plant exhibits rapid early vegetative growth, promoting quick root establishment and efficient nutrient uptake. Plant height ranges from 150 to 180 cm, with sturdy, lodging-resistant stems that facilitate harvest. The medium-sized head, 15-18 cm in diameter, is slightly downward-leaning along the stem, and the seeds are small, weighing 44-50 grams per 1000 seeds, with oil content exceeding 50%. SY Flamenco demonstrates high drought tolerance, making it particularly suitable for steppe regions, though it also performs well in other climatic zones, except extremely arid areas. The plant is genetically tolerant to various diseases, including molds, Phomopsis, Phomoz, as well as to A-E aphid strains, gray mold, and stem and head sclerotinia. This resistance ensures stable yields and reduces the risk of losses under adverse weather and disease conditions. SY Flamenco is recommended for cultivation using conventional soil preparation methods. Seeds are treated with the fungicide and insecticide Cruiser, providing additional protection during early plant development. Recommended planting density depends on moisture levels: 45-58 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered areas, and 35-40 thousand in less watered zones. Thanks to its adaptability, high yield potential, and oil quality, SY Flamenco is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve a stable and high sunflower yield.
