YUVS 8

YUVS 8 is a new simple interlinear hybrid sunflower developed by FGBNU 'FANC South-East'. It belongs to the early-maturing intensive type hybrids with a vegetation period of 89 to 95 days, enabling effective use in the Volga and Lower Volga regions. The hybrid is characterized by high productivity and good morphological uniformity of plants, reaching a height of 140-160 cm. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 76 to 90 grams, indicating the large size and quality of the seed material. YUVS 8 has a high oil content in seeds — from 49.9% to 52.5% — making it attractive for the oil industry. The seed moisture content is approximately 21%, and the natural weight is 416-420 g, ensuring high technological value of the harvest. The average yield of the hybrid reaches 2.57 t/ha, with record yields potentially reaching 4.20 t/ha, significantly exceeding standards and previous varieties such as YUVS 3. The hybrid YUVS 8 is characterized by high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including false powdery mildew, downy mildew, as well as white and gray rot. Genetic resistance and high tolerance to these diseases ensure stable yields and reduce the risk of losses. Due to these characteristics and high oil content, YUVS 8 is a promising choice for farmers focused on obtaining high-quality sunflower yields.
